Sentier des Falaises

A main attraction, this pathway is a definite classic for hikers. The steep cliff features stairs made of rocks, a true work of art created by mountain climbers that takes you from breath taking spots to another until the top. Once on the mountain top, the trail seems a bit more tame and leads to Falaises shelter, where you can watch Delaney Fall from the other side. On Cap Bédard, plains and small valleys reach the St-Lawrence River and the South Shore.

Plan your trip

Outside the opening hours of Accueil Cantin and Accueil Shannahan, we ask hikers to pay the right of access at our main welcome point (Roquemont).

** In winter, several factors can influence your progression. Sometimes it can be difficult to accurately predict the rate of progression. On average, the increase will be about 2 or 3 km/h. However, after a heavy snowfall, your progress could be as low as 0.5 km/h!

Some trail sections can be interesting alternatives to the initial trip!

Le sentier du Petit Bûcher:

  • 1.8 kilometers;
  • Alternative to kilometer 3 to Sentier des Falaises trail, to reach the shelter faster;
  • This stretch of trail, with little elevation gain, consists mostly of a logging road.

Le sentier du Grand Bûcher:

  • 4.5 kilometers;
  • Grand Bûcher Loop (loop next to cap Bédard)
