Refuge le Montagne Art

Montagne Art Refuge is an absolute must in the Valley. A warm rest-stop for the daily hikers of Bras-du-Nord trail and Montagne Art loop, by night it becomes a lodging where groups can sleep.

All made of round timber log, it’s a charming little place with its many assets: a mezzanine with a pretty balcony offering a magnificent view, a mature maple forest, exquisite sunsets, and not very far, an almost hidden waterfall. A great table can sit up to 12 people.

All-in suggestion :

Hike’n Sleep’n Paddle Loop

A summertime two or three day tour leads you through the Bras-du-Nord trail. Then you sleep for a second night in a Shannahan area refuge. Next day at your own pace, meander through the beautiful Bras-du-Nord River, coming back to your car.

Notes:
Bras-du-Nord means North Arm (of the southbound Ste-Anne River)
Montagne Art is a word-play, literally meaning Mountain Art, but pronouncing Montagnard, which then means mountaineer, or highlander.
